Klahanie Comfort

Our client, a busy professional couple with a two year old, wanted their townhome to be more functional and aesthetically pleasing. Having lived in New York previously, they also wanted a more cosmopolitan feel, but still needed the practicalities for their busy lifestyle.

By introducing simple, yet clever space-planning solutions, the main living area was expanded and reconfigured. Clean-lines and soft-toned colours complement each other and enhance the overall spaciousness.

One of the highlights of this renovation is the new lighting. Elegant light fixtures sourced both from New York and locally, feature complementary dining and nook fixtures plus two marine-styled pendants over breakfast bar.

Sophisticated wallpaper from New York welcomes guests and sets stage for this spectacular renewed home.

The existing fireplace was removed, which allowed for a spacious comfortable family room for relaxation or entertaining.

The existing kitchen was completely gutted. New cabinets with a large convenient island provide the efficiency that was desired, while the herring-bone backsplash tiles, contemporary water-fall counter and upper cabinet doors boasting a custom ‘auto-body’ pearl finish give the “Wow factor”. The Nook now boasts banquette seating, chalkboard wall paint, and a stylish light fixture. A cosmopolitan-looking powder room features mosaic-tiles on floor, lower-wall, and behind a back-lit mirror. An attractive over-height wall-unit in the dining area serves as large pantry. Critical storage needs were achieved in custom upholstered window-benches and cabinets throughout.
