This busy family of four loved the ‘bones’ of this home, but it needed updating and improving.
The wall between the kitchen and living room was removed, completely opening the space. By reconfiguring the kitchen, it now functions so much better. The ‘nook’ was eliminated, and a desk was installed into that space. This allowed for the addition of a gorgeous 11-foot by 5-foot island, which provides multiple workstations for multiple cooks.
Plus, plenty of convenient storage! The client loves that there’s comfortable seating for 4 and the island has become a great hangout for family and friends. A ‘coffee bar’ was added in the hallway adjacent to the dining room and easily serves both kitchen and dining areas.
New Oak hardwood floors were installed throughout the main floor and new tile installed in the bathrooms. All spindles and handrails were reused, sprayed white and reinstalled.
The laundry was relocated to the basement, made larger and more efficient.
The family enjoy entertaining family and friends both inside and outside. By extending and updating the outdoor kitchen, the new space works beautifully!
