TAVAN GROUP

Tavan Group has specialized in building homes that truly fit in the neighbourhoods in which they build. The homes are not only beautiful and functional, but they evoke the inherent charm of the neighbourhood in times past.

Celebrating 50 years

Growing up, Troy’s father and his nine brothers were all partners in the same construction company at the same time. One of their celebrated accomplishments is the MacMillan Bloedel Conservatory, still a beautiful building today. Thus, Troy learned very early about building things. He credits them for giving him the love of construction and has always felt that he learned from the best. With a passion for building and the desire to build beautiful homes, Troy started his career in building dream homes in South Surrey, Shaughnessy, Kitsilano, and South Granville.

Whether it’s designing and building a clean-lined, contemporary home or bringing the grandeur of a 1920’s home into the 21st century, design and construction continue to ignite the passion in the Tavan team. Having the trust of their clients, to design and build this important investment, their home, is their pride.

Team

Troy Van Vliet

Principal

Troy’s love of design and building started at an early age working for his father’s construction company. Very much a “hands-on” guy, he worked on many residential and commercial projects. With a love for geometry, drafting and art as a student and growing up watching his parents building their own homes, it only seemed natural to try to build his own home. This started a life-long love of design and construction, inspired to make every element that goes into the final result, the very best possible! He attended UBC on a football scholarship and was drafted to the BC Lions. For many years he has led companies that were based on strong people-relationships, and of which he prides himself today with the Tavan Group. Troy has always understood the importance of being a confident leader and surrounding yourself with good people. Troy’s entrepreneurial spirit, his commitment to quality and fine craftsmanship and his passion for building and design have proved to be the success of the Tavan Group.
